29% of employees feel depressed

A study of over 5,000 employees carried out in late 2020 by research company Gartner has revealed that the COVID-19 pandemic has caused 29% of employees to feel depressed. 49% of employees interviewed stated that they had taken part in workplace wellbeing programmes, with around 90% of employers taking emergency measures to support staff during the pandemic.

Interestingly, only a quarter of organisations will continue to offer those emergency measures, which include flexible working and paid time off for caregivers, in the long term.
