Steven Mather Solicitor

Books

Four books: a plain English guide to selling your business, a legal whodunnit, a sports mindset book for young athletes, and a guide to using AI properly as a solicitor.

Four books, and they have very little to do with each other. Two are about my day job, one is a novel, and one is for children who play sport. I am told this is not how you build a coherent author brand.

Selling Your Business

Free guide

A plain English guide to what actually happens when you sell an owner-managed business: what the stages are, where deals get stuck, and which of the documents matter. Written for owners rather than for other solicitors.

Novel

A witty office-based murder mystery, and the first in a series. A novel rather than a legal guide, though the office politics may look familiar if you have ever worked in a law firm.

The Lawyer’s Prompt

For solicitors

For solicitors in England and Wales who want to use AI without getting themselves into trouble. It covers the verification standard the court set in Ayinde v Haringey, working in a way that keeps client confidentiality intact, and your UK GDPR obligations. It comes with a set of Claude skills that do the work the book describes.

Two older guides

There were earlier guides on Money Claims Online and on settlement agreements. Both are now out of date, so they point here rather than to pages of their own. If you want either, get in touch and I will tell you what has changed since.
