I’m genuinely delighted two new additions to the team of people I work with to deliver exceptional service to clients.

First up Alistair Haggerty joins Nexa as a Consultant Solicitor.

Alistair and I worked together 7 or 8 years ago before he started working with regional and national firms. He is a commercial litigator specialising in insolvency, banking and finance work. Like me, he’s a consultant with Nexa so you’ll be a client of Nexa Law. He’ll be working with me and my clients on litigation matters, ranging from contract disputes, debt collection, shareholder and partnership disputes, property disputes and well everything like that really.

Second up Amit Kapoor joins my business as an Assistant Solicitor.

Amit is newly qualified after passing his SQE1 and 2 with flying colours. He is a highly experienced technology professional turned Contracts consultant, turned business owner, and now lawyer. His past work has included names such as Tech Mahindra, Fujitsu, Balfour Beatty, Universal Music Group, SABMiller, Home Office and Cabinet Office.

Amit will help with me with advisory work and contract drafting, help with public procurement and employment matters, and lead the way on tech related work. Amit is a sub-consulant for me, through Nexa, which means for the next couple of years at least, I will maintain responsibility and supervise his advice and work through Nexa.

I’m delighted becuase these additions help me and my clients – but also because both get to become consultants and I genuinely think it offers the best option for anyone in law with an entrepreneurial spirit – if you can get the work in and earn a percentage of that work, its infinitely better than being a wage slave and having the stick of billing targets over you constantly.
