Solicitors specialising in Terms & Conditions
I’m Steven Mather Solicitor and I am an expert in Business Law and I have dealt with hundreds of businesses who are looking for Terms and Conditions (T&Cs) and every time I strive to provide:
- Plain English Advice
- Time – to understand your situation and all that you’re faced with
- Results – getting the best possible result for you
- Value – fixed fees for your certainty where possible
- Convenience – meetings by phone, video call or in-person at a time to suit you.
Why have Terms and Conditions?
For any business, terms and conditions of sale are a must-have. But they really come into their own if you are dealing Business-to-Business (B2B) as then you can pretty much include whatever terms you want in.
Most of the time, the really important terms and conditions to include would be:
- Limitation of Liability
- How Orders are placed/accepted
- Supply of Goods or Supply of Services
- Payment terms including late payment compensation and interest
- Who takes risk of products and when
- When title to the goods passes
- Data Protection
- Intellectual Property
As an example, you could limit your liability to the price actually paid – without a contract in place, your liability could include much more, such as loss of profit, damage to reputation etc.
Why not use an online Terms and Conditions Generator?
There are now a number of online Terms and Conditions Generators or Terms and Conditions Templates. They’re fine, and they will no doubt do the job.
The advantage of using a solicitor to draft Terms and Conditions for your business is that no only do you have the reassurance that they are bespoke to your business and will work if challenged, but that you can have ongoing help and support with them and any questions you have after they have been drafted.
Our T&Cs template options
We can provide you with a bespoke drafted set of Terms and Conditions to use as a template for everywhere in your business. Online, on email, on the back of your order sheet, on an application form. The more places the better.
We have two options:
- Terms and Conditions – no ongoing support
- Terms and Conditions – with 12 months support
Under the first option, we simply draft you plain English Terms and Conditions bespoke to your business requirements. We will take time to understand how your business operates, how orders are placed by customers, and what key terms you need in your contracts. We’ll provide you with the Terms and Conditions in a PDF Format for use how you like.
The comprehensive option provides a full years worth of support on the terms and conditions. Need them tweaking? We can help. Need advice on them? Just ask. Customer arguing over them? We’ll help.
How much do solicitor drafted terms and conditions cost?
We like to work on a fixed fee basis, but feel free to give us a call and we can give you a more bespoke quote or fee for advice if that’s what you’d prefer.
You should budget for at least £600 plus VAT for a simple set of terms and conditions, and perhaps as much as £2000 plus VAT for a more complicated, bespoke contract.
If you’re unsure on the question of fees, or on any aspect of terms and conditions or business law and need to speak to a solicitor, then call me, Steven Mather.
